What the quote covers, and what it doesn't

Before we start measuring or cutting steel, it helps to be clear about how we scope a job, what affects the final price, and where our responsibility begins and ends. These points come up in almost every consultation, so we've put them in writing.

On-site measuring is part of the service

We don't quote from photos or rough dimensions you send over. A member of our crew comes out, checks the reveal, notes the wall construction, and looks at how the door will swing. That visit is free, and it's how we avoid the usual surprises that come from measuring a security door over the phone.

Council compliance is on us, permits are not

We install to the relevant Australian standards and make sure the door meets local council requirements for residential security screens. If your property needs a formal building permit before work can start, that application sits with you or your property manager. We'll tell you upfront if we think a permit is likely.

Older homes can hide a few things

Character homes in Perth often have door frames that are slightly out of square or built from timber that has moved over the decades. We handle the usual adjustments as part of the job. If we open up a frame and find rot, termite damage, or brickwork that needs repair, we stop and talk you through it before proceeding.

Lock upgrades depend on the existing door

Adding a deadbolt or upgrading to a higher-security cylinder works well on solid timber doors and most steel frames. If your current door is hollow-core or has a damaged edge, a lock upgrade alone won't give you the protection you're after. In that case we'll recommend replacing the door as part of the quote.

Powder-coated finishes and colour matching

We offer a range of standard powder-coated colours, and we can match most common finishes used on Perth homes. Keep in mind that a custom colour match may add a small lead time while the coating is mixed and cured. We'll confirm the exact shade with you before the frame goes into the oven.

Rental properties and property manager approvals

If you're a property manager arranging work on behalf of an owner, we need written approval before installation day. We also recommend checking whether the tenancy agreement places any restrictions on changing entry doors. We'll work around inspection dates and tenant availability where we can.

A note on measurements you send through

When you contact us with rough door or window sizes, we use those to give you a ballpark figure and to decide whether the job is straightforward. The final quote is always based on the on-site measure. If the opening turns out to be significantly different from what you described, the price may change before we confirm the order.

How a job runs from first call to final screw

Every install follows the same path, whether it's a front door replacement for a character home in Fremantle or a patio screen for a modern build in Joondalup. No surprises, no vague timelines, just a clear sequence we stick to.

Step 01

Send your measurements

Measure the opening width and height, note whether it's a timber or brick reveal, and tell us what you're securing. Photos of the current door and hinges help us prepare before we visit.

Step 02

On-site measure and quote

We come out, confirm the opening, check the wall condition, and talk through frame material, mesh type, and finish options. You get a fixed quote before any work begins.

Step 03

Fabrication in our workshop

Your door or screen is built to the exact opening size. Steel frames are welded, mesh is tensioned into the frame, and the powder-coated finish is applied before it leaves the shop.

Step 04

Council-compliant install

We handle the fitting so the door operates smoothly and the locking points align properly. For rental properties, we make sure the install meets the requirements property managers need to document.

Step 05

Lock and hardware check

We test every lock, hinge, and strike plate before we leave. If you've asked for a lock upgrade, this is when the new deadbolt or multi-point lock gets fitted and adjusted.

Step 06

Walkthrough and handover

We show you how the door operates, explain the warranty on the mesh and finish, and leave the site clean. From there it's just a matter of using it and enjoying the airflow.

Talk to us when you need a straight answer

Whether you are halfway through a renovation or just starting to look at options, we keep the conversation simple. Send through your measurements or a few photos of the door opening, and we will come back with a clear quote and a realistic timeline.

We work across Perth's northern and southern suburbs, and we are used to fitting jobs around tenant changeovers and rental inspection dates. If you are a property manager, you can reach us directly and we will handle the rest.

Call or message

The quickest way to get a feel for your job. We can usually tell you over the phone whether a standard security door will work or if we need to look at a custom frame.

Response times and scheduling

We aim to reply to every enquiry within one business day. On-site measuring is usually booked within the same week, and installation slots depend on the current workload. For rental properties, we can prioritise jobs that need to be completed before a new tenant moves in.

If you are unsure about what you need, that is fine. We will ask a few questions, take measurements on site, and give you an honest recommendation even if it means a smaller job than you expected.
